Chervita Campbell

Chervita Campbell is a native of Freeport, Bahamas. Her father Clement Campbell decedent of Turks & Caicos and mother Cheryl Marshall Campbell decent of Exuma and Long Island both moved to Grand Bahama. Chervita enjoys living in Freeport and likes to take an active role in the community that she lives in. Chervita is the eldest of two children, born and raised in Freeport. She holds three university degrees: a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology, a minor in Social Work and a minor in Biology from Bethune-Cookman University and a Masters of Education in School Counseling from Kent State University. She is a proud mother of one daughter Zoey she loves to spend time with.

Chervita works local, shops local, worships local and plays local. When not working she enjoys volunteering for many local community and school organizations and likes to partake in local festivals and events. On Sunday mornings she attends Community At Heart Tabernacle, Church of God of Prophecy.

In 2011 Chervita was elected to the City of Freeport Council for the constituency of High Rock. During this was the Councillor Representative for Jr. Junkanoo and Regatta. In 2014 Chervita was elected to the City of Freeport Council for the constituency of Marco City. She was elected among her colleagues as Chief Councillor. Chervita was appointed Chairman of Grand Bahama Regatta and Homecoming. While serving Chervita lobbied for better lighting for residents and college students in the area over the bridge, summer employment for high school, college students and unemployed persons, lobbied for additional bus shelters, supported construction on new a park, supported establishment of Sister City borad. She was also elected to serve as Secretary to Bahamas Association of Local Government Authorities (BALGA). She is an active member of the Grand Bahama Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Member of Godly Women of Excellence. Nationalist by heart she supports and actively participates in cultural, the arts and local history preservation events. She was involved in volunteer retention/relations, performing administrative duties, promotions, staff training, and college recurtment. Now she is employed with The Ministry of Education as a School Counselor for at risk students. Her part time job is guiding students towards their college of career choices. Furthermore, Chervita loves volunteering and serving others in the community that she lives in...she has a servant's heart.
